Windpower Technical Advisory Group

Introduction

The Renewable Portfolio Standards legislation as defined by the Annotated Code of Maryland, Public Service Commission Article, Sections 7-701 to 7-713, directed the Public Service Commission to “establish a technical advisory group (TAG) to develop recommendations on siting, operational, and monitoring criteria for wind-powered electricity generating facilities relating to avian and bat issues.” The Power Plant Research Program (PPRP) was directed to “assist the windpower the TAG in its study and the development of recommendations.” PPRP has initiated efforts to provide the TAG such assistance by starting the process of identifying and organizing information that can be used by TAG members in developing their findings and recommendations. This web site contains links and reports relevant to the task of the TAG.
